Marianne Williamson Endorses Eva Putzova For Congress
January 19, 2020
ARIZONA, January 19 — Today, former 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson announced her endorsement of Eva Putzova for Arizona’s First District, including her primary race against a conservative Blue Dog Democrat and the general election against a Trump-supporting Republican.
When Marianne Williamson suspended her presidential campaign, she decided to help congressional candidates she had met on the road and whose policy stances she shares.
“Eva is a candidate who can’t be bought,” said Williamson, “and we have to fundamentally change what kind of policymakers we send to Washington. When she ran for her local city council seat in 2014, her main agenda was to raise the minimum wage and in 2016, she did just that. She put people first then and she will do that when elected to Congress.”
“To get an endorsement from a serious presidential candidate doesn’t happen every day. We share a vision for a just, generous, inclusive, and healthy America and I’m honored Marianne Williamson recognized our campaign’s work over the last year,” Putzova said. “I appreciate her support for policies that put people — not corporations — first.”
Putzova is one of the first candidates for Congress that Williamson has endorsed in 2020. Both Putzova and Williamson took pledges to not accept money from corporate PACs and the fossil fuel industry.
Williamson with the Blue America PAC, which has also endorsed Eva’s campaign, are helping to raise funds on this page (https://bit.ly/2FFYK09) for Eva’s and other candidates’ 100% grassroots campaigns.
